Non-registered childminder insurance

In the majority of cases, childminders must be registered with the relevant regulatory body. However, there are certain instances – such as if the children you’re looking after are aged eight or over, if you’re only caring for children you’re related to, or if you don’t receive payment for your services – where you may be exempt from registration.

There are more details about the various exemptions in our blog: What is a non-registered childminder (and is it allowed?)

Fish Childcare Insurance now offers dedicated insurance for non-registered childminders, exempt from compulsory registration. Our cover includes extensive public liability insurance and employers’ liability insurance, and access to legal, health and medical helplines.

What’s more, our policy also provides unlimited access to useful free documentation, including template contracts to help you run your business.
